HD Ratings: Moving Houses in Overdrive
No wonder TVNZ 1 is backing the truck up for more episodes of Moving Houses — ratings for the first season show it still has plenty of mileage.
Tuesday’s penultimate episode averaged 5.9% of the network’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, and 4.1% of its next most important core commercial demographic, 18-49s.
In each demo, it drew twice the viewership of TVNZ 2’s Beauty and the Geek Australia and Three’s The Block: Fans vs Faves while crushing Prime’s Kiwi houses rival, Designing Dreams, which averaged 0.1%.
Moving Houses anchored an unbeatable night for TVNZ 1, with The Chase, 1 News at 6pm, Seven Sharp and Paramedics winning their slots in the key demos.
Only with the start of Coronation Street did TVNZ 2 gain ground, with its 8.30 movie, The Spy Who Dumped Me, dominating from 9.30 (although Coro proved competitive in the 18-49 contest).
Beauty and The Block were neck-and-neck, and Three’s re-run of David Lomas Investigates beat the first hour of TVNZ 2’s movie in the 18-49 demo but not 25-54.
TVNZ 1 won the night with a 34.3 share of 25-54s and a 33.6 share of 18-49s; less than a point separated TVNZ 2 and Three in these demos, with the former pipping the latter.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
