HD Ratings: Moving Houses New TVNZ 1 Asset
TVNZ 1’s new Clarke Gayford vehicle, Moving Houses, rated through the roof on Tuesday.
The series premiere averaged 5.5% of the network’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, to win the 7.30 hour and a competitive 3.5% of 18-49s to rival TVNZ 2’s Celebrity Treasure Island (5.3% / 3.7%).
It easily out-rated in both core commercial demographics Three’s launch of Married at First Sight UK: 3.6% of 25-54s, 2.8% of 18-49s.
Moving Houses’ popularity set up lead-out I AM to dominate at 8.30 with 4.7% / 3.2% opposite TVNZ 2’s Wentworth (2.9% / 2.8%) and Three’s overlap of First Sight UK and Naked and Afraid of Love (the Discovery+ premiere averaged just 1.5% of 25-54s and 0.9% of 18-49s but was still competitive).
Such was the 25-54 appeal of I AM that the +1 broadcast out-rated TVNZ1’s Coronation Street in two quarter-hour segments.
While it wasn’t quite love at first sight for the UK dating hit, Wednesday’s episode built on the season premiere to average 4.1% of 25-54s and 2.9% of 18-49s vs 6.2% / 4.7% for CTI.
It easily beat TVNZ 1’s The Wheel (3.4% / 1.9%) but the game show’s lead-out Rich House Poor House (3.4% / 2.3%) was competitive with TVNZ 2’s Taskmaster UK (3.2% / 2.6%) and Three’s Love It Or List It Australia (3.5% / 2.4%).
At 9.30, Three dominated with Death Row: Countdown to Execution (2.5% / 2.1%), which led Coronation Street and TVNZ 2’s Would I Lie to You?.
TVNZ 1 won both Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the key demos while TVNZ 2 and Three seesawed.
TVNZ 1 also carried Monday night, thanks to the popularity of 1 News at 6pm and Seven Sharp.
CTI won the 7.30 hour for TVNZ 2 but the 8.30 slot was roughly split across My Life is Murder, Spice Girls: How Girl Power Changed the World and the tail end of Lego Masters.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
