HD Ratings: Murder Slays Head High
TVNZ 1’s My Life is Murder is winning Monday night’s battle of the Kiwi dramas.
Episode three averaged 3.8% of the network’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, and 2.9% of 18-49s.
This was up on its season premiere — 2.7% / 1.8% of the core commercial demographics — and well ahead of Three’s Head High, which averaged 2.6% / 2.1%.
It, too, improved on its season premiere but given the bumper viewership of the 6pm news hours on both channels, they should have rated higher.
Still, they shone compared to the S11 premiere of TVNZ 2’s The Walking Dead, which could muster only 0.8% / 0.5% of the key demos on the back of time slot-winning The Undateables.
It averaged 5.7% / 4.6% against the Kiwi dramas and even out-rated lead-in MasterChef Australia.
The latter averaged 5.5% of 25-54s and 4.0% of 18-49s vs 5.1% / 4.1% for Three’s The Block NZ.
But TVNZ 1’s Fair Go and Border Patrol beat both while Seven Sharp won against Shortland Street and The Project.
Earlier, 1 News won the 6.00 hour with averages of 12.3% / 9.5% while the network’s 4pm coverage of the Covid-19 press conference rated even higher: 16.3% / 14.1% — roughly double-the viewership of Three’s.
Prime’s 5.30 news bulletin could average only 0.5% / 0.3%.
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest key demo shares while TVNZ 2 pipped Three for second place.
