HD Ratings: NCIS Combo Tops Key Demos

The return of NCIS on Tuesday out-rated the network premiere of Looper in the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics.

It averaged 3.6% – 5.3% of the major demos, and was most popular with TV3’s 25-54 target audience.

That was on the back of The Block: Glasshouse’s 4.6% – 6.2% and ahead of NCIS: Los Angeles’ 3.6% – 5.8%.

The latter’s season premiere was more popular than its lead-in in all the key demos except 18-39, with which it tied.

TV2’s Looper, which aired opposite both NCIS hours, averaged 4.1% – 6.8% and won its slot in the 18-39 and household shopper demos.

TV1’s Person of Interest is still failing to fire on its new night, with this week’s episode averaging only 1.5% – 4.2%.

Lead-out Fat Tony & Co couldn’t even reach 2%, averaging a mere 1% – 1.4%, which is likely to see the Underbelly spin-off spun off into a late-night slot sooner rather than later.

I wonder if the lack of ratings for Person of Interest has something to do with the fact it’s already been shown on TVNZ’s Ondemand service?

  2. Possibly, but I think it probably has more to do with it being on a new night where fans aren’t used to watching it, the gorgeous summer nights and like-minded fare on TV3.
