HD Ratings: New Dog Show Just the Cat’s Whiskers
TVNZ 1’s The Dog House is a bonafide hit.
The heartwarming series premiered on Tuesday, when it even out-rated lead-in Eat Well for Less? in the 25-54 demographic, with 5.6% vs 5.5%.
It also was up 1.6 rating points on the previous week’s High School Mums.
The show won its slot in the 5+ and 18-49 demographics as well, and seesawed with the end of Three’s Big Brother in the 18-39 demo.
Only household shoppers with kids resisted its charms, opting for TVNZ 2’s MKR: The Rivals (7.3% vs 4.1%).
The popularity of The Dog House and a true crime with twists aplenty helped TVNZ 1’s 20/20 to win the 9.30 hour in all the core commercial demos.
TVNZ 2’s Station 19 finished second, ahead of Three’s repeat of NCIS: Los Angeles.
An original NCIS: LA, at 8.30, also trailed the competition.
At 7.30, Eat Well dominated in all the core commercial demos except household shoppers with kids, who found MasterChef Australia more tempting.
TVNZ 1 won the night in all the key demos except HHS/k, of which TVNZ 2 narrowly held the biggest share.
Here are Tuesday’s 20 most-watched primetime programmes on the free-to-air HD channels (excluding +1 and in order of their 5+ rating and audience share):
