HD Ratings: New Travel Man Travels Well

The premiere of the new-look Travel Man on Monday won its slot as part of an unassailable line-up on TVNZ 1.

This was the long-running show’s first screening on the network. It averaged 4.7% of 25-54 year-olds and 3.8% of 18-49s on the back of 6.1%/4.8% for Fair Go.

TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia had the edge on Three’s MasterChef NZ: the former averaged 2.9%/2.0% of the core commercial demographics and the latter 2.6%/1.8%.

Extreme Weddings level-pegged with Three’s 9-1-1 in the 18-49 demo (1.3%) and outrated it among 25-54s (2.3%/1.9%) but both were beaten by TVNZ 1’s re-run of Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip (4.3%/3.9%).

TVNZ 1’s 20/20 also won the 9.30 hour (2.2%/1.4%) against 2’s Naked Attraction (1.4%/1.0%) and Three’s 9-1-1 Lone Star (1.2%/0.9%).

Under-siege soap Shortland Street started the week strongly, with 4.4%/4.0% – ahead of Three’s The Project (3.2%/2.5%) but behind 1’s Seven Sharp (6.5%/4.8%).

On the smaller HD channels, Whakaata Māori’s Chasing Great averaged 0.2%/0.0%, Duke’s The Office UK 0.1%/0.5% and The Orville 0.1%, and Prime’s movie Dirty Harry 0.0%.

TVNZ 1 won the night with massive 36+ shares of the key demos while Three narrowly led TVNZ 2 in the 25-54 race; their positions were reversed among 18-49s.

Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
