HD Ratings: Norton More Secure
Three’s Graham Norton Show made a ratings comeback on Friday after losing the previous week to a Harry Potter movie.
It didn’t win the 8.30 hour in its 24-54 demographic but did see-saw with TVNZ 2’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I to virtually split the audience with a 4.8 average.
That was a big improvement on the previous week, when it averaged only 3.6% against The Half-Blood Prince and lost every quarter-hour segment.
But Hallows still dominated, winning every quarter hour in the 18-49 and 18-39 demos and all but one among household shoppers with kids.
TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street had a strong night, with a 25-54 average of 3% to largely win the 9.30 hour against 2’s Instant Hotel (2.3%) and the second half of Live at the Apollo and Fail Army on Three.
1 News drew more than double the 25-54 viewership of Newshub Live while its re-run of Highways Cops was three times as popular as the first half of Three’s The Project (which averaged 2.3% for the hour and also was beaten by 1’s Amazing Spaces Shed of the Year).
TVNZ 1 won the night with a 25-54 share of 24.3% compared to 2’s 22.8%, Three’s 19.8%, Duke’s 2.2% and Prime’s 1.8% — the highest-rating SD channel was Bravo, with 4.6% — while 2 was tops in the other key demos.
Om Saturday, 2 made a clean sweep of all the core demos with its triple-bill of The Medallion, Coyote Ugly and The Perfect Storm trouncing 1’s predominantly factual programming and Three’s movies Megamind, The World’s End and The Sum of All Fears.
