HD Ratings: Offspring Off and Running
TV One’s faith in Sunday drama Offspring was rewarded this week when it won the 8.30 hour in two of the key demographics and proved competitive in the rest.
The episode averaged 4.5% – 8.6% of the major demos and out-rated Agents of SHIELD and The Blacklist among adults 25-54 and household shoppers with kids.
SHIELD, which rated 5.3% – 7.9%, was tops in the 18-39 and 18-49 demos but The Blacklist’s double-episode held up well.
The first episode averaged 3.6% – 6.3%, and was narrowly beaten by Offspring to finish second among adults 25-54.
The second episode rated 3.1% – 6.3%, and was slightly lower in all the key demos except HHS, despite weaker 9.30 competition from the season premiere of Rake (1.3% – 2.8%) and The Tomorrow People (3.6% – 6.1%), which it beat in the 25-54 and HHS demos.
Earlier, MasterChef NZ averaged 5.9% – 12.8% opposite the network premiere of Happy Feet Two (4.9% – 7.1%) and The Great Food Race (4.0% – 7.7%).
