HD Ratings: Old Bean No Has-Been

TVNZ 1’s Happy Birthday Mr Bean special on Tuesday easily won the 8.30 hour in the core commercial demographics.

It averaged 3.7% of 25-54 year-olds and 2.8% of 18-49s.

TVNZ 2’s struggling Australian drama Amazing Grace averaged 2.2% and 1.4% respectively, to finish behind Three’s Aussie documentary series Emergency (2.7% / 2.2%).

Grace was hindered by lead-in MasterChef Australia losing to both TVNZ 1’s Eat Well for Less? and Three’s The Block NZ.

Block won the 7.30 hour, with 4.4% of 25-54s ands 3.4% of 18-49s vs Eat Well’s 4.0% / 3.2% and MasterChef’s 3.6% / 2.6%.

The 9.30 hour was tightly contested, with Three’s NCIS: Los Angeles winning with 25-54s and splitting the 18-49 audience with TVNZ 2’s Naked Attraction while TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street was close behind.

At 7.00, Seven Sharp continued to dominate, easily beating Shortland Street and The Project in the key demos.

TVNZ 1 won the night with commanding core demo shares.
