HD Ratings: Person of Interest Programme of Interest
TV One’s season premiere of Person of Interest on Monday registered more interest from viewers than the previous week’s season finale of Criminal Minds.
It averaged 5.0% – 8.1% of the key demos compared to Criminal Minds’ 3.7% – 5.4%.
The premiere provided a strong lead-in to Castle, which scored its highest ratings this season: 2.8% – 6.2%.
Otherwise, it was business as usual for a Monday night, with TV2’s HD hits dominating.
Its hour-long Shortland Street averaged 15.6% – 24.7%, The Big Bang Theory 11.5% – 14.6% and Grey’s Anatomy, 8.9% – 12.8%.
TV3’s X Factor NZ rated 10.2% – 16.0% but its lead-out, an HD repeat of the movie The Bank Job, quickly gave up this advantage.
It more than halved its viewership over two hours to average 5.8% – 7.1%.
This still placed it ahead of Castle in the key demos but well behind TV2’s SD prison drama Wentworth, which out-rated lead-in Grey’s Anatomy among household shoppers.
Wentworth’s popularity helped late-night HD comedy/drama Shameless to average an unusually high 4.2% – 7.5%.

POI s2 is well worth a watch. Shame it coincided with TV1’s new channel bug and lack of HD information both onscreen and in Freeview’s epg. It almost seems as if TVNZ are actively discouraging people to watch!
