HD Ratings: Poor Start for Million Pound Pawn
TVNZ 1’s Thursday premiere of Million Pound Pawn had more ratings lustre than Three’s Aussie Gold Hunters but trailed the return of TVNZ 2’s Ambulance.
It averaged 2.7% of 25-54 year-olds and 1.9% of 18-49s vs Ambulance’s 3.2% / 2.7% and Hunters’ 2.0 / 1.7%.
Pawn’s ratings were down sharply on Super Rich Sleepovers, which ended its run the previous week with averages of 4.0% and 2.9%.
Ambulance had the benefit of top-rating lead-in Police Ten 7, which averaged 5.6% / 4.7% of the core commercial demographics.
In the 18-49 demo, TVNZ 2 had a winning night, with Travel Guides Australia averaging 3.7% to beat TVNZ 1’s Your Home Made Perfect (3.4%) and Three’s David Lomas Investigates (3.5%).
However, Perfect won the 7.30 hour with 25-54s (5.1%), on the back of Seven Sharp (7.1%) and 1 News at Six (10.9%) while Lomas averaged 4.4% – one-tenth of a point behind Travel Guides.
Three’s Newshub Live averaged 7.5% of 25-54s and The Project 5.6%.
Newshub Late won its slot with a 25-54 average of 1.8% opposite TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street (1.2%) and TVNZ 2’s Filthy House SOS (1.4%).
In the 18-49 demo, SOS and Newshub seesawed.
Prime’s new line-up continued to struggle, rating lower than last week’s premieres: Celebrity Bake Off averaged 0.3% of 25-54s and 0.2% of 18-49s, A Life in Ten Pictures 0.2% / 0.1% and Bull 0.0% of each.
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest key demo shares while Three easily led TVNZ 2.

I haven’t seen much coverage about the wonderful return of ABBA, surely it’s one of the biggest stories of the year in fact of any year. I hope they do a Blu-ray of one of the concerts, it looks amazing ?
Maybe it’s coming to Shudder?
