HD Ratings: Queen’s Birthday Winners & Losers

My Kitchen Rules has built up such a head of steam that it’s steamrolling the competition.

Monday’s episode easily out-rated Three’s Dancing With the Stars and TVNZ 1’s Queen’s Birthday programming while Tuesday’s was even more popular.

It averaged 10.1% of 25-54 year-olds vs 8.5% the previous night, and 8.2% of 18-49s vs 7.2%.

Tuesday’s episode faced off against the season finale of Three’s Lost & Found, which rated strongly — 6.9% of 25-54s, 5.5% of 18-49s — and topped TVNZ 1’s Emergency Call and The Force.

MKR’s lead-out sitcoms — Mom on Monday and Will & Grace on Tuesday — couldn’t sustain their bumper lead-in, allowing Three’s 8.30 dramas The Rookie and NCIS to dominate on those nights.

Even so, TVNZ 1’s movie, A Hologram for the King, still managed a competitive 3.4% of 25-54s, which was higher than what its normal Monday combo of Criminal Minds and Q + A averages over two hours.

On Sunday, TVNZ 1’s Elvis All-Star Tribute blitzed the 25-54 and 18-49 competition, averaging 6.5% compared to 5.8% for DWTS.

But the latter won with household shoppers with kids and TVNZ 2’s movie, The Pacifier, with 18-39s.

TVNZ 2’s premiere of War for the Planet of the Apes ruled post-8.30 in all the core commercial demographics, with averages of 2.3% – 5.5%.

TVNZ 1’s A Royal Night Out averaged only 0.9% – 2.0% and Three’s The Scorch Trials, 0.8% – 2.4%.

TVNZ 1’s Britain’s Got Talent won its slot in all the key demos on Saturday while Prime line-up of World’s Wildest Weather and Super Rugby was competitive with 25-54s and 18-49s.

TVNZ 2 owned Friday evening, with Shortland Street and The Simpsons, with the latter rating especially strongly: 5.4% of 25-54s, 5.2% of 18-49s, 6.2% of 18-39s and 6.4% of 18-49s.

Lead-out Game of Games also held up, despite losing to Three’s Graham Norton Show in all the core demos except HHS/k.

7 Days won its slot across the board, with sprightly demo averages of 4.5% – 5.5%.
