HD Ratings: Rabble Rousers No Ratings Riot
Three’s new Kiwi comedy Rabble Rousers was no match for 7 Days when it debuted on Thursday.
It averaged 1.6% of the network’s core commercial demographic, 25-54 year-olds, versus 1.7% of TVNZ 1’s Your Garden Made Perfect and 3.6% for TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia.
In the 18-49 demo, it edged out YGMP (1.3% vs 1.2%) but still lost by a wide margin to MasterChef (2.8%).
Despite MasterChef’s popularity, lead-outs Ten 7 Aotearoa and East Coast Rising still lost to TVNZ 1’s Rich House Poor House in both key demos.
And while 7 Ten topped Three’s Comedians Giving Lectures, ECR lost to Comedians and overlapping Outsiders — which also was competitive with Coronation Street, although the soap’s last half-hour, in which another wedding day was doomed, dominated post-10pm.
Prime’s Cadbury Netball Series averaged 1.4% of 25-54s and 1.0% of 18-49s.
Earlier, Seven Sharp and The Project battled it out at 7.00, with the former averaging 3.9% of 25-54s and the latter 3.0%, although the gap was wider in the 18-49 race; Shortland Street lost to both.
TVNZ 1 won the night with the biggest key demo shares. Three’s lead over TVNZ 2 in the 25-54 demo was reversed in the 18-49 contest.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.

Wow, those ratings figures for Prime’s netball coverage are probably their best ever for a Thursday night in a very long time. Hope they secure more netball coverage if it means higher ratings.
I really wanted to like it but… yeah, nah
