HD Ratings: Resurrection Dips But Still Tops

TV2’s hot new drama series Resurrection rated lower in its third broadcast after last week’s record-breaking double-episode launch.

But it still was up to three-and-a-half times more popular than the competition, averaging 7.4% – 14.8% of the key demographics.

It topped 10% of adults 25-54 and household shoppers with kids, and sustained its audience over the hour.

The first half was up against TV One’s Agent Anna (1.1% – 3.9%) and the last half-hour of TV3’s X Factor Australia, which averaged 4.8% – 5.4% over its 90 minutes.

It was beaten by TV One’s Restoration Man (2.9% – 6.2%) in the 25-54 demo and seesawed among HHS/k while TV2’s Police Ten-7 and Code: 1 out-rated both with 2-3 times as many viewers.

TV3’s 9pm re-run of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation averaged 3.2% – 4.6%, which was remarkably study for a repeat that started midway through Resurrection.

But it was helped by a steep decline in viewership of TV2’s Men in Rubber Masks (5.6% – 9.0%), which easily won the 9.30 slot but still saw its audience collapse by 3-4 ratings points over the hour.

Week-on-week, TV2’s primetime ratings and shares were down sharply but it was still well ahead of the competition.

Thursday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:

  • A18-49: TV One, 4.6 rating/16.3 share; TV2, 8.6 rating/30.1 share; TV3, 4.5 rating/15.7 share
  • A18-39: TV One, 3.4 rating/12.9 share; TV2, 7.9 rating/30.3 share; TV3, 4.4 rating/16.9 share
  • A25-54: TV One, 6.4 rating/20.0 share; TV2, 9.5 rating/29.5 share; TV3, 4.9 rating/15.1 share
  • HHS/k: TV One, 6.3 rating/17.8 share; TV2, 13.5 rating/38.0 share; TV3, 5.8 rating/16.4 share.
