HD Ratings: Rivals Nab TV2 Viewers

TV2 took another hit Tuesday with near-season lows for Step Dave and Revenge while TV One was on a roll with its earlier wildlife hour delivering a strong lead-in for its two-hour doco block.

TV One sharply improved its peak-hour ratings and shares week-on-week, TV3’s were steady (with the bonus an upsurge among household shoppers with kids), and TV2’s declined.

The network’s 8.30 anchor, Step Dave (left), averaged only 5.4% – 8.6% of the major demographics on the back of Cops Uncut’s 8.6% – 12.5%.

The latter couldn’t hold the lead-in Nabbed provided (11.8% – 17.9%), with viewers drifting off to TV One’s The World’s Oddest Animal Couples (5.6% – 9.4%) and TV3’s Grand Designs (5.4% – 9.2%).

As a result, NCIS (4.7% – 10.6%) went on to win the 8.30 hour in all the key demos except adults 18-39, who stuck with Step Dave, while TV One’s 24 Hours in A&E averaged a competitive 4.2% – 7.2%.

A&E was just what the doctor ordered for Women Behind Bars: Life & Death (4.2% – 6.1%) , setting it up to win the 9.30 hour with adults 18-39 and 18-49.

NCIS: LA (3.5% – 7.0%) out-rated it in the 25-54 and HHS demos, with Revenge in third place (3.1% – 5.7%).

Tuesday’s peak-hour HD channel ratings and shares were:

  • Adults 18-49: TV One, 7.0 rating/23.4 share; TV2, 7.1 rating/23.8 share; TV3, 6.0 rating/19.9 share
  • Adults 18-39: TV One, 6.0 rating/22.0 share; TV2, 7.1 rating/26.1 share; TV3, 5.2 rating/19.0 share
  • Adults 25-54: TV One, 7.8 rating/23.7 share; TV2, 7.0 rating/21.3 share; TV3, 7.3 rating/22.1 share
  • HHS: TV One, 9.7 rating/25.6 share; TV2, 10.8 rating/28.4 share; TV3, 8.7 rating/23.0 share.

O MY GOD. Why is Intelligence coming to TV One? It’s a TV2 series or has TV2 got something bigger?

  2. TV2’s US drama cup already runneth over and TV One would see Intelligence as a good match for Person of Interest in The Following’s slot.
