TV3 has yet to reschedule Shark Tank, which it’s replacing mid-season with Heroes Reborn.

Monday’s episode was the seventh of 15 in a series that has built week-to-week, to the point where it was competitive with TV2’s Reno Rumble and Wentworth in key demographics.

Whereas TV3 will continue its stablemate, Odyssey, in a late-night Sunday slot, it has yet to find a new berth for Shark Tank.

Last night’s “final” averaged 4.9% – 7.2% of the commercial demos compared to RR’s 6.3% – 8.9% and Wentworth’s 6.0% – 6.6%, both of which it overlapped.

It did so off the back of MasterChef NZ’s 4.4% – 5.3% and ahead of Odyssey’s 2.2% – 3.2% while beating TV1’s Criminal Minds (3.1% – 6.8%) in all the key demos except 25-54 (where only four-tenths of a point separated them).

Earlier, TV1’s Border Security International and The Force topped three of the four key demos.

And at 9.30, Castle averaged 2.0% – 5.4% to win the hour among household shoppers with kids.

TV1 started the night strongly with One News out-rating 3News by 3:1 while Seven Sharp was twice as popular as Story but no match for Shortland Street (10.7% – 18.7%).

As a result, TV1 won the night in three of the key demos. Both TVNZ channels averaged shares in the 20s whereas TV3 couldn’t top 15.5%:

I hope Heroes Reborn has superpower ratings next week … c’mon New Zealand, don’t let me down 🙂

  2. I hope TV2’s new season line up goes off with a big bang and let’s hope we have one or two hits this year in drama.
