HD Ratings: Sherlock Outshines CSI: NY
The season-three premiere of Sherlock boosted TV One’s elementary Saturday night ratings.
It averaged 2.8% – 4.8% of the major demographics, which was well up on the previous week’s season finale of The Doctor Blake Mysteries (0.6% – 3.8%), and out-rated HD sleuthing rival CSI: NY (2.4% – 4.6%).
But neither could compete with TV2’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which averaged 5.3% – 7.9%.
MasterChef Masterclass continues to struggle at 7.30 (2.0% – 5.8%) and out-rated Ice Road Truckers (4.7% – 5.7%) only among household shoppers with kids.
While there’s still scant appetite for TV3’s 9.30 Saturday sensation Hannibal (1.6% – 2.3%), The Simpsons is starting to build in its new Friday slot, with this weekend’s episode averaging 4.0% – 4.8%.
The was about the same as lead-out How I Met Your Mother but well behind the season finale of The Bachelor Australia (6.7% – 9.3%).
The latter’s popularity also dented Graham Norton’s appeal, with his chat show averaging 5.5% – 6.5% — although it built opposite the start of TV2’s movie That’s My Boy (4.3% – 5.9%).
Thursday’s Arrow was down on the previous week (5.5% – 8.5%) but still out-rated Doc Martin (2.6% – 6.3%) and CSI (3.9% – 5.9%).
CSI was TV3’s top post-news performer, with lead-in Cadbury Dream Factory averaging only 2.8% – 5.5% and lead-out Hens Behaving Badly 2.6% – 4.7%.
Arrow benefitted from Motorway Patrol’s 9.7% – 12.6% lead-in while George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces averaged 2.2% – 5.2% ahead of Doc Martin.
