HD Ratings: Spooky Fade for Paranormal
Replacing Grey’s Anatomy with Paranormal Caught on Camera has provided only a temporary Tuesday night ratings respite for TVNZ 2.
Initially Paranormal out-performed the geriatric hospital soap but this week it slipped to sub-1.0% averages in the core commercial demographics, averaging just 0.9% of 25-54 year-olds and 0.7% of 18-49s.
It finished third behind TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street (1.1% of each demo) and Three’s Newshub Late (1.3% / 1.1%), with the hour-long Coro beating Newshub in the half-hour they went head-to-head.
The trend was the same last week but Paranormal still managed to average 1.3% / 1.2% of the core demos.
Lead-in Wentworth was consistent week-on-week (3.5% / 3.2%) but lost more than half the 25-54 viewership of Celebrity Treasure Island (7.2%).
TVNZ 1’s 7.30 opposition Eat Well for Less? was more competitive this week, with averages of 4.1% / 3.5%, while Three’s Lego Masters Australia was a close third (3.7% / 3.3%).
TVNZ 1’s Paramedics was down from the previous week, to 3.4% / 2.9%, as was Three’s Emergency re-run (1.8% / 1.5%).
Earlier, TVNZ 1’s news hour and Seven Sharp out-rated Three’s rivals.
TVNZ 1 won the night with 30+ shares of the key demos while TVNZ 2 easily led Three.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
