HD Ratings: Treasure Island a Gem for TVNZ 2

Celebrity Treasure Island anchored a top-rating Monday night in all the core commercial demographics for TVNZ 2.

It out-rated lead-in Shortland Street, with 8.5% of 25-54 year-olds, and was almost as popular as the soap in the 18-49, 18-39 and household shopper demos, with averages of 5.7% – 8.6%.

CTI helped to drive ratings for lead-outs Seven Year Switch (3.6% – 7.4% of the key demos) and The Single Wives (1.5% – 2.7%), both of which won their slots across the board.

Three’s CTI rival, Married at First Sight NZ, averaged 3.4% – 6.6% to seesaw with TVNZ 1’s Fair Go and Border Patrol.

But at 8.30, Three’s Kiwi co-pro, The Gulf, easily beat TVNZ 1’s Wild Bill. The former averaged 1.9% – 3.4% and the latter, 0.9% – 2.6%.

The same was true at 9.30, when Special Victims Unit topped Q + A.

At 6pm, TVNZ 1’s news hour was well ahead of Three’s in the 25-54 and HHS demos but led by less than half a rating point among 18-49s and 18-39s.

Seven Sharp dominated The Project in all the core demos while Three’s Newshub Live lead-in, Millionaire Hot Seat, has barely improved on predecessor Love Island UK.

TVNZ 2 won the night in all the major demos while TVNZ 1 narrowly beat Three except among 18-39s.
