HD Ratings: Treasure Island Celebrities Unbeatable
Moving Houses again took a back seat to Celebrity Treasure Island on Tuesday but Married at First Sight UK was the night’s biggest casualty.
TVNZ 2’s CTI rated a season-high 8.3% of 25-54 year-olds and 6.2% of 18-49s, which was up sharply on the previous Tuesday’s 5.3% / 3.7%.
Viewership of TVNZ 1’s Moving Houses was steady (5.3% / 3.0%), with only minor slippage on last week’s premiere, but Three’s MAFS UK was hammered: it averaged only 2.4% / 2.0% of the core commercial demographics vs 3.6% / 2.8% for its premiere a week earlier.
The surge in CTI viewing also boosted lead-out Wentworth, which week-on-week improved from 2.9% of 25-54s to 3.5% and from 2.8% of 18-49s to 3.0%.
While the 18-49 gain was modest, it helped the prison drama to pip TVNZ 1’s I AM (2.9%), although the latter easily led in the 25-54 race (4.3%).
Three’s 8.30 option Naked and Afraid of Love, a series designed for the Discovery+ streaming service internationally, averaged slightly fewer viewers for its second episode (0.9% of 25-54s, 0.8% of 18-49s) but lead-out Queen of Meth won the 9.30 hour (1.5% / 1.3%) ahead of Coronation Street (1.3% / 0.9%) and Paranormal Caught on Camera (1.0% / 0.8%).
Prime’s 8.30 documentary, A Mild Touch of Cancer, averaged 0.1% of 25-54s and 18-49s.
Earlier, TVNZ 1 led with The Chase, 1 News at Six and Seven Sharp winning their slots in the network’s target demo but 7S again lost to TVNZ 2’s Shortland Street in the 18-49 demo.
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest share of 25-54s while TVNZ 2 dominated the 18-49 share; Three finished well behind in each.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
