HD Ratings: TVNZ 1 Docus Nuke Rivals
TVNZ 1’s documentary double-bill special on Sunday easily out-rated the competition in the core commercial demographics.
John Campbell’s 1 News Special on anxiety averaged 4.4% of 25-54 year-olds and 3.4% of 18-49s.
It shed half the viewership of lead-in Hyundai Country Calendar, and drew fewer viewers than the final of Sunday two weeks earlier, but improved on the previous week’s The Chase: The Bloopers.
TVNZ 2’s Harry Potter game show averaged 2.8% of 25-54s and 2.4% of 18-39s and Three’s The Block: Fans vs Faves 3.1% / 2.3%.
At 8.30, Ben Fogle: Inside Chernobyl won the 8.30 hour with 4.4% / 3.3% vs 2.4% / 1.7% for TVNZ 2’s Bad Moms 2 and 2.5% / 1.8% for Three’s Men in Black International.
TVNZ 1 won the night with a 36.7 share of 25-54s and 35.3 share of 18-49s while Three finished a clear second in these demos.
TVNZ 1’s Saturday evening line-up of 1 News, Space Invaders and Britain’s Busiest Airport: Heathrow swept the 25-54 demo and while its movie The Queen lost to TVNZ 2’s Fool’s Gold, it was more popular with 18-49s.
Three’s premiere of B-grade gem Crawl finished third in both demos, despite lead-in Dr Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas beating TVNZ 2’s Kung Fu Panda 3.
TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest 25-54 and 18-49 shares while Three easily led TVNZ 2.
But TVNZ 2 dominated Friday with Shortland Street and the movie Elf winning their slots in both key demos.
They helped it to win the night’s biggest 18-49 share but TVNZ 1 pipped it for 25-54 honours.
Note: These overnight ratings exclude viewership of the networks’ +1 SD channels.
