HD Ratings: TVNZ 1’s Perfect Makeover

TVNZ 1’s Thursday night lifestyle makeover lifted the network’s 25-54 and 18-49 viewership week-on-week.

The series premiere of Your Garden Made Perfect at 7.30 averaged 4.2% of 25-54 year-olds and 2.6% of 18-49s, compared to 3.5% / 1.4% for Grand Designs UK the previous week.

It was no match for TVNZ 2’s Police Ten 7 (5.1% / 4.0%) but out-rated Motorway Patrol (3.8% / 3.0%) and Three’s Celebrity IOU (which last week narrowly won the 7.30 hour with 25-54s).

Garden lead-out 10 Years Younger in 10 Days averaged 3.2% of 25-54s and 2.6% of 18-49s, beating Three’s 7 Days (2.1% / 1.7%) and NZ Today (2.0% / 1.9%).

Younger also beat TVNZ 2’s A Current Affair (2.1% / 1.8%) and seesawed with Renters in the 25-54 demo but lost to it in the 18-49 race.

Younger lead-out Coronation Street dominated post-9.30, averaging 2.1% / 1.7% (up from 1.6% of each key demo the previous week).

TVNZ 2’s Apprentice Aotearoa re-run averaged 0.8% / 0.7% and also lost to Three’s 2nd Chance Charlie (1.7% / 1.4%) and Funny Girls (1.8% / 1.5%).

Prime’s 9.30 premiere of Teine Sa: The Ancient Ones largely went unnoticed, averaging 0.0% of 25-54s — a debut not helped by abysmal 25-54 ratings for lead-ins Young Rock (0.0%) and The Equalizer (0.3%).

Just as few viewers dipped into Maori TV’s new 8.00 game show, Lucky Dip (0.0%).

TVNZ 1 easily led the night with the biggest 25-54 and 18-49 shares while TVNZ 2 edged out Three for 25-54 honours by six-tenths of a point and was two points ahead in the 18-49 stakes.
