HD Ratings: TVNZ 2’s Monday Night Massacre

TVNZ 2’s 100% Kiwi Monday night schedule took another pounding last week, with Popstars, Vegas and Creamerie tumbling further in the ratings.

Against Three’s Married at First Sight Australia, Popstars averaged 1.7% of TVNZ 2’s target audience, 18-49 year-olds, vs 3.3% the previous week, and 2.4% of Three’s core 25-54 viewership (vs 3.5% a week earlier).

Lead-out Vegas averaged 1.1% of 18-49s, down from the premiere’s 1.6%, and 1.4% of 25-54s (down from 2.3%).

The disastrous domino affect continued, with Creamerie averaging just 0.1% of 18-49s and 0.3% of 25-54s (down from 1.0% and 1.3% respectively).

MAFS averaged 5.6% of 25-54s and 4.5% of 18-49s, ahead of Framing Britney Spears’  2.1% and 1.6% respectively.

The pop star documentary lost to TVNZ 1’s network movie premiere of They Shall Not Grow Old, which averaged 2.3% of 25-54s and 1.8% of 18-49s.

Substituting Fair Go for Seven Sharp because of the public holiday ensured TVNZ 1 won the slot against Shortland Street and The Project — the consumer affairs half-hour was up 2.5 points week-on-week, to 6.9%, which was higher than SS’s average the previous Monday.

Extreme Cake Makers at 7.30 rated surprisingly well against MAFS, with 4.5% of 25-54s, while lead-out The Casketeers averaged 3.1%.

TVNZ 1 and Three keenly contested the night, with the former averaging the biggest 25-54 share but the latter won the 18-49 vote by one-tenth of a point.
