HD Ratings: Viewers Chase Ghislaine

Three’s Wednesday night premiere of Chasing Ghislaine won the 9.30 hour in the network’s core commercial demographic.

The first of three parts averaged 2.0% of 25-54 year-olds vs 1.7% for TVNZ 1’s Coronation Street and 1.5% for TVNZ 2’s overlap of Would I Lie to You? and Taskmaster NZ repeat.

But in the 18-49 demo, it seesawed with TVNZ 2’s duo and lost to the UK soap.

Otherwise, TVNZ 1 dominated the night with everything from 5.00 to 9.30 winning the 25-54 race while its 18-49 lead extended through to midnight — a remarkable feat given the latter is TVNZ 2’s target audience.

Three’s The Block: Fans vs Faves was competitive with The Celebrity Chase and only one-tenth of a point separated TVNZ 1’s Location Location Location and Three’s Love It Or List It Australia among 25-54s (the 18-49 gap was 2.0% vs 1.5%).

TVNZ 2’s Wednesday ratings were woeful, with double-episodes of Young Sheldon and Mom rating a distant third in the 7.30 and 8.30 hours.

As a result, TVNZ 1 won the night’s biggest shares of both key demos – 30+ – while Three was about 10 points behind in each and TVNZ 2 was in the high teens.
