HD Ratings: Westside Set to Rule

Over the past few weeks Three has optimised tonight’s season six premiere of Westside with top-rating specials and the return of Grand Designs NZ.

The network won last Monday night with the biggest shares of all the core commercial demographics.

Grand Designs led off at 7.30 with 6.1% of 25-54s, Patrick Gower: On Weed followed with 7.7% and Magnum PI closed with 3.7%.

Weed and Magnum won their slots outright in all the key demos while Grand Designs was competitive against TVNZ 2’s MasterChef Australia, beating it in the 18-49 and 18-39 races but losing in the 25-54 and household shopper stakes.

Weed crushed TVNZ 1’s Criminal Minds and TVNZ 2’s The Farmer Wants a Wife — as did Toke the previous week.

Three’s homegrown marijuana-themed movie averaged 5.1% of 25-54s, 4.4% of 18-49s, 3.4% of 18-39s and 6.7% of HHS/k to win across the board.

It even topped the 5+ ratings, with 3.8%.

So by carefully building up Mondays, Three can confidently expect the final season of Westside, to paraphrase the publicity, to go off with a bang!
