HD Ratings: X Factor Surges and Tron Triumphs
The second live X Factor NZ broadcast out-rated the first, averaging 13.2% – 16.3% of the major demographics.
It won its two-hour slot outright in these demos and was well ahead of principal HD rival, MasterChef NZ, in each.
The latter averaged 8.2% – 11.2% and its HD lead-out, Packed to the Rafters, 5.3% – 7.9%.
The night’s only other HD drawcard, Mike & Molly, averaged 8.2% -13.3% and was most popular with household shopers.
But while it was on, X Factor NZ averaged 20% of this demo.
TV2 dominated Saturday night’s ratings, with its network HD premiere of Tron: Legacy.
It averaged 6.5% – 14.1% of the key demos, and set TV2 up for a clean sweep with the SD movies that followed, Legion and XXX.
TV3’s HD staples were steady — CSI averaged 4.9% – 7.2% and CSI: NY, 3.7% – 5.9% — while TV One’s Country Calendar mustered only 4.3% – 6.8% and MasterChef MasterClass, 3.2% – 5.6%.
TV2 also called the piper’s tune on Friday with The Voice Australia averaging an untouchable 11.4% – 13.9% opposite Modern Family’s 2.7% – 4.0%, The New Normal’s 2.5% – 4.6% and The Graham Norton Show’s 4.4% – 7.2%.
TV2 dominated the rest of the night while Ben and Steve: World Famous In … improved to 4.4% – 5.0%.
On Thursday, Once Upon a Time averaged 5.3% – 7.3% to beat Bones (3.6% – 4.5%) in each of the key demos.
