HD Ratings: You Have Been Paying Attention!
TVNZ 2’s Have You Been Paying Attention? looks set to end its run tonight on a ratings high.
Since shifting the show from 7.30 Wednesday to 8.30, its 18-49 viewership has doubled.
On May 6, 2.5% of TVNZ 2’s target audience tuned in; last week it averaged 4.1%.
It was the same with 18-39 year-olds, leaping from 2.2% of this core commercial demographic to 4.2%. And in the 25-54 demo, viewership jumped from 3.0% to 4.4%
As a result, it out-rated Three’s 9-1-1 in all the key demos for the first time and dented the appeal of TVNZ 1’s locally acclaimed The British Tribe Next Door.
TVNZ 2 also has improved its 7.30 Wednesday viewership over the same period. On May 6, Attention lead-in 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown averaged 2.7% of 18-49s against fierce competition from Three’s Bondi Rescue; last week it averaged 3.5%.
While Three’s Bondi block continues to rule the 7.30 hour, last week it did lose to Countdown in the 18-39 demo for the first time.
TVNZ 2 went on to win the biggest share of 18-39s for the night, and also the lion’s share of household shoppers with kids, while TVNZ 1 dominated the 25-54 and 18-49 demos.
Here are last Wednesday’s 20 most-watched primetime programmes on the free-to-air HD channels (excluding +1 and in order of their 5+ rating and audience share):
