HDTV Heads-Up: January 26-February 1
The first of this year’s NZ HD drama series, real estate agent comedy Agent Anna, will hang out its shingle on January 31.
The Robyn Malcolm conception, about a divorcee who goes back to work for the first time after 17 years of raising two daughters, will air 8.30pm Thursdays on TV One.
Malcolm pitched the idea to Great Southern TV (The Apprentice, Rescue 1), and Being Eve duo Vanessa Alexander and Maxine Fleming penned the six episodes.
The excellent cast includes Roy Billing (Underbelly: The Mr Asia Story) and Theresa Healey (Go Girls).
Healey also will be seen in The Blue Rose, which starts February 4 on TV3, and another of the network’s pending HD drama commissions, Harry.
The week starting January 26 also is notable for the season finales of Private Practice (TV2, 9.30 Monday) and The Block Australia (TV3, 7.30 Friday), and the network HD premiere of Despicable Me (TV3, 7.00 Sunday).
Being re-run in HD are The Boat That Rocked (TV3, 9.00 Sunday) and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (7.30 Tuesday).
