HDTV Ratings: April 23

Monday’s Desperate Housewives regained some of the ground it lost in last week’s startling slump.

It won the 8.30 hour in every key demographic except 25-54, where Criminal Minds out-rated it by a point.

TV2’s Wisteria Lane warhorse averaged 9.0%-11.8% whereas TV One’s crime procedural drew 7.1%-10.5%.

TV3’s Homeland improved on the previous week, averaging 5.5%-7.0% as it built towards next week’s movie-length season finale.

It was up more than a point in most demos, off the back of better numbers for Modern Family.

The HD comedy is particularly popular with 18-39 year-olds, giving TV2’s Amazing Race a run for its money: 8.8% versus 9.0%.

Moreover, it jumped nearly three points with household shoppers, climbing from 6.1% the previous week to 8.8% (albeit still no threat to Race’s 11.8% and The Force’s 12.6%).

Housewives stablemate Revenge rebounded by a similar margin at 9.30, where its HHS rating rocketed from 8.5% to 11.7%, only fractionally less than its lead-in and double the viewership of Person of Interest and CSI.

Revenge also spiked in other demos, where its HD rivals lagged only 2-3 points behind, but dropped two points with the 18-39 crowd.
