HDTV Ratings: April 7-10
Abruptly replacing its HD Sunday line-up with movies had mixed results for TV3’s weekend ratings.
The first half-hour of the Men in Black II re-run, albeit in HD, averaged fewer 18-49 and 25-54 year-olds than last week’s Modern Family.
With household shoppers with kids, the fall was even sharper, from 7.6% to 5.3%.
But the movie’s last half-hour averaged 12.4% of HHS/kids, which was five points higher than the opening half-hour of the previous week’s House, and the trend was true of the other chief demos, too.
The last half of Happy Gilmore, however, averaged only marginally more 18-49 and 25-54 viewers than The Good Wife did in the same slot the previous week, although the golfing comedy did score markedly more HHS/kids.
TV3’s Saturday HD movie, The Devil Wears Prada, out-rated TV One’s Die Another Day but not TV2’s Gridiron Gang while TV One’s HD run of Hyundai Country Calendar continues to exert far more ratings horsepower than its time slot rivals.
TV3’s Friday HD line-up of Glee, The Graham Norton Show and newcomer Come Fly With Me largely improved across all demos, with Come Fly With Me posting the biggest gains, winning its slot with HHS/kids.
In Thursday’s HD stakes, TV2’s No Ordinary Family pulled ahead of TV3’s Bones in all the major demos while TV2’s late-night run of Fringe continues to rate above 5% and win its slot.
