HDTV Ratings: August 2

Amazingly, TV3 won last night in the 25-54 demographic with its crime shows up against TV2’s hitherto unassailable HD hospital soaps.

NCIS narrowly lost to Grey’s Anatomy – 10.5% versus 10.8% — and Special Victims Unit only just beat Private Practice: each had an 8.3% rating but TV3’s channel share was fractionally higher.

But overall for the night, TV3 came out on top.

Even in TV2’s demo, it was a tight race, with Grey’s rating 10% and NCIS 9.6%, although the gap was wider at 9.30pm when Practice drew 8.6% versus SVU’s 6.3%.

The 18-49 contest was also unusually close: Grey’s rated 10.3% and NCIS 10% while SVU beat Practice: 7.8% versus 7.6%.
