HDTV Ratings: December 6-10
It looks like “Good night, nurse’” for Jackie after Monday’s final episode sunk to a season (if not series) low.
The double-episode send-off averaged a sickly 1.0% – 3.6% of the major demographics, and rated only 1.6% of TV3’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds.
This was off the back of 3.9% – 7.8% — and 25-54 rating of 6.5% — for Homeland’s penultimate episode.
While the finale had the bad luck to air opposite TV One’s crowd-pleasing Obsessive Compulsive Hoarder (7.9% – 10.1%), the ratings overall for this season of Jackie have been so dismal that the next season is bound to join The Killing and The Good Wife in late-night slots.
Hoarder won the 9.30 hour opposite Private Practice (5.7% – 10.4%) while the latter’s lead-in, Grey’s Anatomy, averaged 9.8% – 14.3%.
On Sunday, TV3 won the night with an HD re-run of Love, Always rating 7.8% – 9.5% opposite 1.7% – 5.8% for TV One’s Vera.
TV3’s Saturday HD combo of CSI: New York/Miami was strong, with respective ratings of 4.0% – 6.2% and 3.5% – 6.1%.
Both lost to TV2’s Starship Troopers movie but not by a wide margin and were well ahead of TV One’s Come Dine With Me and Pan Am (1.7% – 2.8%).
Ice Road Truckers returned with a competitive 4.2% – 5.8% against The Voice’s 4.4% – 6.6%.
However, On the Grill went off the boil, with only 1.1% – 3.2% of viewers compared to Annabel Langbein’s 2.5% – 5.8%.
Friday’s The Graham Norton Show won the 8.30 hour with 10.4% – 12.0% but The X Factor USA’s 6.3% – 9.5% couldn’t match The Big Bang Theory’s 10.3% – 12.2% or Two and a Half Men’s 8.6% – 12.0%.

When can we expect 2 to finally show some new episodes of The Big Bang Theory? It’s painful how far behind the rest of the planet we are!!
I was wondering the same thing considering series six started in September. TVNZ seems to be trying to wring all it can out of the repeats.
