HDTV Ratings: February 18-20
TV One’s Sunday night HD newcomer, North, went south in the ratings last night, losing a couple of points in all of the key demographics.
It was watched by 11.7% of 25-54 year-olds, the channel’s chief audience (vs 13.7% for last week’s premiere), 9.5% of 18-49 (vs 11%) and 10.4% of household shoppers with kids (vs 13.7%).
But the Marcus Lush show still won the slot in these demos and drew nearly twice as many viewers as TV3’s HD comedy, Modern Family.
On Saturday, TV3’s HD movie, another re-run of Walk the Line, tanked opposite TV2’s SD premiere of Duplex but out-rated TV One’s movie, Closer, except with HHS/kids.
Meanwhile, TV One’s HD half-hour, Coasters, narrowly beat TV2’s America’s Funniest Home Videos in the 25-54 and 18-49 demos but generally is attracting barely more than half the audience of its January 22 premiere.
Another local show, TV3’s Super City, also wasn’t as muscular on Friday, when 4.3% of 18-49 year-olds tuned in compared to 7.4% for its premiere the previous week.
The 25-54 viewership fell similarly, from 7.2% to 4.9%, while the HHS/kids rating nearly halved, from 9.5% to 5.4%.
The ratings for TV3’s other Friday night HD staples, Glee and The Graham Norton Show, also were down on the previous week.
