Sun sets on Private Practice?

TV2’s HD hospital duo, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, haemorrhaged 25-54 year-olds last night when they only narrowly beat TV3’s NCIS and Special Victims Unit.

Grey’s rating fell from 13.3% last week to 10.6% and Practice’s from 10.6% to 6.2%.

In comparison, NCIS’s rating jumped from 8.5% to 9.5% and SVU’s from 5.9% to 7.1%.

While Grey’s was consistent with TV2’s target audience of 18-39 year-olds, Practice plummeted from 9.2% of this demographic to 6.4% — although SVU wasn’t able to capitalise on the exodus.

Household shoppers with kids also deserted Grey’s and Practice: the former’s rating slipped from 18.4% the previous week to 15.6% and the latter’s from 14% to 8.9%.

Earlier in the evening, TV3’s repeat of Missing Persons also was down on the previous week, almost by half in the HHS/kids demo – 6.8% versus 12.7% — while the 25-54 rating slumped from 10.2% to 8.9%.
