HDTV Ratings: July 24-25
Weaker competition on TV2 helped The Block to top the ratings on Wednesday.
It won the 7.30 hour in all the key demographics, averaging 10.4% – 14.2% against the first half of TV2’s Two and a Half Men re-run marathon (10.3% – 13.3%).
This helped lead-out The Slap to rate higher among household shoppers (7.2%) but with other key demos it averaged only 4.6% – 5.3%.
The Slap’s HD stablemate, Breakout Kings, posted its lowest averages yet: 2.8% – 3.1%.
By comparison, TV One’s HD rival, Castle, averaged 4.8% – 6.6%.
On Tuesday, First Crossings’ first outing on TV One averaged 7.9% – 10.5% against TV2’s The Mentalist (9.3% -11.4%) and TV3’s NCIS (4.6% – 8.4%), and won the 8.30 hour with the network’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds.
TV2’s HD premiere of Body of Proof’s second season won the 9.30 hour with household shoppers (8.9%).
It averaged 5.4% – 5.9% of the other key demos to finish behind TV One’s Coppers but ahead of TV3’s Hawaii Five-0.
But there was good news for TV3 at 8.00, when Kings Cross ER improved on previous weeks to average 6.1% – 11.2%.
