HDTV Ratings: June 14-15

Sons of Anarchy out-guns 24 Hours: Police

The final of TV3’s HD Inside NZ strand, 24 Hours: Police, nosedived in the ratings.

Last night’s finale drew only 6.5% of 25-54 year-olds compared with 9% the previous week.

Similarly, far fewer 18-49 year-olds (5.7%) and household shoppers with kids  (4.9%) tuned in.

However, ratings were lower across all of the networks at 8.30pm, with even TV2’s HD sitcoms The Big Bang Theory (15.6%) and Cougar Town (10.3%) shedding a couple of points.

However, TV3’s Sons of Anarchy reversed this at 9.30pm. Its viewership climbed from 8.1% to 9.6% of 25-54 year-olds, from 8.1% to 9.3% of 18-49 year-olds, and from 9.9% to 10.2% of HHS/kids.

Earlier in the evening, Survivor: Redemption Island maintained its 18-49 and 25-54 ratings but more than halved its viewership of HHS/kids, from 6% last week to 2%.

Tuesday’s pseudo-season finale of NCIS: Los Angeles improved on the previous week’s episode, with 6.4% of 25-54 year-olds (vs 5%), 5.6% of 18-48 year-olds (vs 4.4%) and 7.8% of HHS/kids (vs 7.1%).

In each of these demos, HD opposition Grey’s Anatomy was down a point or more, as was stablemate Private Practice while at 8pm, TV3’s Australian Federal Police was up more than a point.
