HDTV Ratings: June 24-26
After a couple of weeks of barely middling ratings, TV2’s HD sitcom, The Middle, last night rebounded to easily beat its current affairs competition on TV One and TV3.
Its 25-54 rating jumped from 10.8% to 12.2%, and its 18-49 rating from 10.6% to 13.6% — whereas Sunday and 60 Minutes could muster only single-digit audiences in these demographics.
With TV2’s target demo, 18-39 year-olds, viewership improved from 11.8% to 13.7% and among household shoppers with kids, from 12.8% to 16.8%.
TV3’s HD comedy, Modern Family, also got a 25-54 boost, with 6.9% tuning in compared with 5.9% the previous week, while its 18-49 rating was up from 5.7% to 6.3%.
But HHS/kids slipped from 6.1% to 5.8%.
Later in the night, CSI: Miami largely maintained its previous week’s ratings in the key demos, as did TV One’s The Food Truck, although the target 25-54 audience didn’t have quite the same appetite for it: 11% vs 12.7%.
On Saturday, TV One’s Hyundai Country Calendar reasserted its supremacy over TV3’s ITM Fishing Show, drawing about twice the audience while on Friday The Graham Norton Show again won its slot in the major demos, with NZ’s Next Top Model delivering a strong lead-in (it’s particularly popular with TV2’s 18-39 demo).
