HDTV Ratings: June 4-5

Tuesday’s explosive season finale of NCIS: Los Angeles won its time slot in all the key demographics except household shoppers.

It averaged 9.0% of TV3’s target audience, 25-54 year-olds, 8.2% of the 18-49 demo and 7.0% of viewers aged 18-39.

The HHS rating was 7.4%, which put it ahead of TV2’s Necessary Roughness but nearly three points behind TV One’s Coppers.

Stablemate NCIS won the 8.30 hour in the 18-49 and 25-54 demos, where it rated 9.0%-9.9% compared to Intrepid Journeys’ 7.3%-8.6% and GCB’s 8.9%.

But Journeys and GCB had roughly twice the HHS viewership while in the 18-39 demo, NCIS rated 8.1% and GCB 10.7%.

Ratings for TV3’s Funny Roots dropped significantly for the first time.

The Cori Gonzalez-Macuer episode averaged only 4.9%-6.1% of the key demos opposite Suburgatory’s 10.3%-13.2%.

Suburgatory lead-in The Middle had another stellar night, with ratings of 13.8%-17.9%.

It was business as usual on Monday, with Desperate Housewives and Revenge largely dominating their slots, although Criminal Minds won the 8.30 hour with 11.2% of 25-54 year-olds.

The hour-long episode of Shortland Street again was the most-watched show of the night, averaging 19.2%-23.8%, reducing Last Man Standing’s viewership to just 2.2%-3.8%.

However, Modern Family clawed back some of this with ratings of 6.3%-7.6%.
