HDTV Ratings: June 6

TV3’s Breakout Kings posted its highest ratings yet on Wednesday with the episode that guest starred Robert Knepper in a reprisal of his T-Bag role from Prison Break.

It averaged 6.5%-7.8% of the key demographics to finish a competitive third in the 9.30 hour, but won it with males aged 25-54 (9.0%).

Breakout Kings’ lead-in was the second episode of Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, which built upon its premiere.

The HD true-crime dramatisation averaged 7.2%-8.2%, compared to 5.6%-8.6% for the previous week, and recorded  a big jump in household shoppers.

HD lead-in The GC continues to rate relatively well against TV2’s 2 Broke Girls.

It averaged 8.6%-10.2% versus the sitcom’s 13.3%-17.8%.

Tellingly, it’s most popular with TV2’s target audience, 18-39 year-olds.

Also performing impressively against Two and a Half Men (15.3%-19.7%) is Road Cops, which averaged 8.4%-9.9% — and this was despite The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee boosting TV One’s audience from 7.30pm-11pm.

The Big Bang Theory again was the most popular of TV2’s HD sitcoms while Shortland Street again was the most watched show of the night.
