HDTV Ratings: March 14-15

Can Go Girls star Matt Whelan turn top ratings into big box office when his new movie, My Wedding and Other Secrets, opens on Thursday?

TV2’s Go Girls continues to go great guns on Tuesday nights, with this week’s episode being twice as popular as the competition.

It was watched by 14.5% of 18-49 year-olds, 15% of 25-54 year-olds and 16.9% of household shoppers with kids.

TV3’s HD option, NCIS: Los Angeles, could muster only half as many viewers in each of these demographics; likewise, Go Girls’ lead-out, Off the Map.

Go Girls rated the highest with TV2’s target demo, 18-39: 16.7% (vs NCIS: LA’s 5.2%) — which could bode well for  the box office prospects of GG star Matt Whelan’s new movie, My Wedding and Other Secrets, when it opens on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Monday’s episode of TV3’s HD hit from the same stable, The Almighty Johnsons, was out-rated by TV2’s HD family import, Brothers & Sisters.

The latter was about three ratings points ahead in each of the key demos.

The first HD episode of TV One’s Castle finished third in the 9.30pm slot, with 6.6% of 18-49, 8.6% of 25-54 and 5.7% of HHS/kids.

Monday night’s other HD stalwarts, Criminal Minds and Desperate Housewives, continue to rate well, with significantly larger audiences than TV3’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, except with HHS/kids, where the two crime dramas were neck-and-neck (but still well behind the women of Wisteria Lane).

Only TV3’s Bigger Better Faster Stronger continues to underperform on Mondays, rating around 5% in key demos.
