HDTV Ratings: March 28-April 1

TV3’s new touchy-feely Kiefer Sutherland drama, Touch, sustained most of the premiere’s audience when the second episode aired Sunday.

It averaged 6.8% of 25-54 year-olds (versus 7.0% for the premiere), 6.7% of 18-49 (vs 6.2%) and 5.6% of household shoppers (vs 6.3%).

While these weren’t great numbers, the show was competitive with TV2’s The Dukes of Hazzard in the older demographics, although both trailed TV One’s Packed to the Rafters.

While’s TV2’s HD comedies again dominated the night, TV One’s Politically Incorrect Guide to Grown Ups challenged The Big Bang Theory’s supremacy in most demos and out-rated TV3’s Would I Lie to You?  by roughly 2:1.

TV3’s HD premiere of Public Enemies on Saturday was gunned down by the opposition, averaging only 2.3%-4.3% of the major demos while lead-in Terra Nova drew 3.2%-4.1%.

Hyundai Country Calendar also had a rough night, averaging only 6.3% of 25-54 and 5.6% of HHS.

On Friday, TV2’s American Idol continues to easily out-rate TV3’s HD duo of Glee and The Graham Norton Show in all the key demos except, curiously, TV2’s 18-39 viewership, which helped the second half of Norton to beat the last half-hour of Idol.

On Thursday, TV2’s HD fantasy, Once Upon a Time, is still tops, despite slipping in popularity across the board, while TV3’s The Finder averaged a middling 4.3%-6.9%.

TV2 continues to own Wednesday night with it wall-to-wall line-up of HD sitcoms but at 9.30pm TV3’s Sons of Anarchy reigns supreme, being two points ahead of TV2’s The Walking Dead in every key demo except HHS, where it was up nearly four points.

I love Touch. I find it very clever how they connect the people together in the episode, it’s a small world after all 🙂

  2. I think the premise is fun — I just wish the human dimension wasn’t so by-the-numbers.

  3. We watched the second episode and yes, it’s too touchy-feely — so I’ve removed it from the Season Pass.

  4. Haha paulw, I’ve just done exactly the same thing!
