HDTV Ratings: March 6
NZ TV’s best-kept secret at last has been discovered.
Tuesday’s episode of The Secret Lives of Dancers still finished third in its slot but posted its best ratings of the season.
It averaged 5.6% of 25-54 year-olds, 5.2% of 18-49, 4.4% of 18-39 and 6.5% of household shoppers.
HD rival The Middle danced circles around it, with 2-3 times as many viewers but Dancers is gaining a foothold, which is the least it deserves.
TV2’s Tuesday comedy line-up is proving almost as popular as its Wednesday hits, with newcomer Suburgatory averaging 14.2% of HHS, and 10.3%-10.5% of the 18-39 and 25-54 demos — which left Missing Pieces with 5.2%-5.9% of these viewers.
Go Girls also is going gangbusters, with 12.6% of 25-54 (versus NCIS’ 6.7%), 11.9% of 18-49 (vs 6.0%), 12.9% of 18-39 (vs 4.6%) and 15.8% of HHS (vs 4.9%).
Against lesser competition, NCIS: Los Angeles had higher 25-54 (6.9%), 18-49 (6.1%) and 18-39 (5.0%) ratings but a lower HHS turnout (4.2%).
The night’s two HD serials, Home & Away and Shortland Street, continue to easily win their slots — while the former helps 3 News to out-rate One News, the latter tips the balance in TV2’s favour for the rest of the night.
