HDTV Ratings: March 9
TV3’s Sons of Anarchy has revved up the network’s 9.30pm ratings to become almost as popular as The Almighty Johnsons.
Last night’s episode was watched by 8.8% of the audience TV3 is targeting, 25-54 year-olds, and 8.2% of its traditional viewership, 18-49 year-olds, putting it only a rating point or so behind Monday’s The Almighty Johnsons.
In the household shoppers with kids demographic, two points separated them, with Anarchy drawing 11.6%.
However, HD lead-in Hawaii Five-O is struggling, drawing 4.8%-5.9% of key demos opposite TV2’s sitcom juggernaut of The Big Bang Theory and Cougar Town, which attracts three times as many viewers.
The flow-on from Two and a Half Men, the night’s most watched series, through two-and-a-half hours of more comedy means even late-night repeats of The Mentalist are rating well for TV2.
TV One’s only HD offering, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Parenting, out-rates TV2’s Scrubs with 25-54 year-olds, and is merely a couple of points behind the aging medics sitcom in other key demos, with the gap only widening markedly in TV2’s target age group, 18-39 year-olds.
