Underbelly Files: Tell Them Lucifer Was Here

Kiwis preferred their own badlands to Australia’s last night, when TV One’s Beyond the Darklands out-rated TV3’s Underbelly Files movie, Lucifer Was Last Here.

The first hour of the HD thriller was competitive with Aussie rival Packed to the Rafters but predictably was thrashed by TV2’s HD sitcom combo, The Big Bang Theory and Cougar Town.

The second hour was narrowly beaten by both Darklands and TV2’s Drop Dead Diva.

However, Lucifer’s ratings — 8% of 25-54 year-olds, 7.4% of 18-49 year-olds, 10.1% of household shoppers of kids – were well above what Hawaii Five-0 has been able to muster in the slot.

TV3’s other HD Wednesday ‘drawcard’, Survivor: Redemption Island, is treading water opposite Two and a Half Men and newcomer $#*! My Dad Says.

They drew three-to-four times Survivor’s viewership, which was down on last week’s in the key demos of 18-49 (4.3% vs 5.8%) and 25-54 (5.2% vs 6.5%) but was up with HHS/kids (6.7% vs 6.2%).

TV One’s HD reality half-hour, Family Feuds, also suffered opposite $#*! My Dad Says, with its ratings one-to-two points down on last week’s.
