HDTV Ratings: May 27-29

TV2’s Sunday night HD sitcom, The Middle, is still out-rating TV3’s Modern Family by at least 2:1, with this weekend’s episode being the most popular yet in its new 7.30pm slot.

It drew 14.1% of TV2’s target audience, 18-39 year-olds (compared to 11.2% the previous week), 14.2% of 18-49 year-olds (10.8%) and 17.5% of household shoppers with kids (12.7%).

Half-an-hour earlier, Modern Family could muster only 5.9% of 18-39 year-olds, 6.2% of 18-49 year-olds, 6.9% of 25-54 year-olds, and 4.2% of HHS/kids.

CSI: Miami’s ratings were down sharply on the previous week, to the kind of numbers that saw HD stablemate The Good Wife relegated to late-night (where its following is starting to dwindle).

TV3’s HD Saturday movie, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, rated above average for the slot – 7% of 25-54 year-olds, 6.4% of 18-49 year-olds and 5.2% of HHS/kids – but was no match for TV2’s double-bill of The Incredibles and Starship Troopers.

Earlier in the night, The ITM Fishing Show improved in the key demos opposite TV One’s Country Calendar while on Friday The Graham Norton Show continues to build on the back of Glee.
