HDTV Ratings: May 5
America’s Next Great Restaurant has got its just desserts.
After three weeks of low ratings, TV3 is pulling it in favour of Wipeout, which takes over the 7.30pm Thursday slot next week (but not in HD).
TV3 axed ANGR after last night’s episode drew only 3.6% of 18-49 year-olds, 4.6% of 25-54 year-olds and 4.2% of household shoppers with kids
Its HD competition on TV2, Rescue 1, rated four-to-six times better in these demos.
Persevering with ANGR would have risked fatally jeopardising the popularity of lead-out Bones, which last night was resoundingly beaten by TV2’s No Ordinary Family — whereas pre-ANGR the two were neck-and-neck.
The pulling power of TV2’s peak-hour schedule, with the SD addition of Embarassing Teenage Bodies, means even a late-night series like Fringe is rating strongly as its second-season finale nears.
Last night’s penultimate instalment was watched by 5.8% of 18-49 year-olds, 6.5% of 18-39 year-olds and 6.7% of HHS/kids.
