HDTV Ratings: October 26-29
Who can blame TV One for dumbing down its programming when top dramas on TV3 continue to languish for the audience they deserve?
Monday’s Homeland drew a third to a half of the viewership that tuned into TV2’s Grey’s Anatomy.

Homeland’s Claire Danes
It averaged 4.0% – 6.0% of the key demographics compared to Grey’s 8.5% – 11.2%.
Grey’s stablemate averaged 6.0% – 9.8% opposite Unforgettable’s 1.3% – 5.0% and Californication’s 2.6% – 3.0%.
Earlier in the night, Shortland Street averaged 15.3% -19.3%, Border Patrol 8.7% – 15.3%, and The Block Australia 4.6% – 6.0%.
On Sunday, TV2’s The Hangover (11.2% – 14.3%) proved a massive headache for Nothing Trivial (3.5% – 8.2%), Offspring (1.6% – 5.3%) and It’s Complicated (3.2% – 4.4%).
Earlier, NZ Got Talent averaged the night’s highest viewership, 9.2% – 20.0%.
On Saturday, CSI: NY averaged 3.0% – 4.7% and CSI: Miami 3.9% – 6.3% while on Friday, viewership was split between The X Factor USA (6.4% – 9.0%), The Big Bang Theory (8.0% – 9.2%), Two and a Half Men (5.6% – 7.2%), The Voice (5.6% – 8.6%) and The Graham Norton Show (6.1% – 7.4%).
Unbelievable, Homeland is literally the best thing on TV here in the US. But then again, since the days of bread and circuses, something other than artistic merit has always drawn the largest crowds.
