HDTV Ratings: September 12-13

TV3’s NCIS went off the boil last night when TV2’s grand final of My Kitchen Rules did just that in the ratings.

It slashed the HD crime drama’s 25-54 rating from last week’s 9.5% to 5.9%, which crippled prospects for the return of its sister show, NCIS: Los Angeles, at 9.30pm.

LA also had to go up against TV2’s HD hit, Grey’s Anatomy, which started at 9.15pm instead of 8.30pm because of the extra-long MKR.

However, TV One’s HD cooking series, Chef on a Mission, met the competition from MKR by maintaining its viewership, with a 25-54 rating of 8.1% (versus 7.9% last week).

TV3’s HD chef challenge, Under the Grill, also was steady, with a 25-54 rating of 6.3%.

Meanwhile, TV2’s HD double-bill of The Mentalist and the season finale of Body of Proof again dominated Monday’s ratings.

The former topped 14% of TV2’s target audience, 18-39 year-olds and household shoppers with kids, while the latter rated 9.3% and 11.6% respectively.

However, TV3’s SD movie, Wanted, was neck-and-neck with Body of Proof in the 25-54 and 18-49 demos, and both were well ahead of TV One’s second Criminal Minds re-run of the week, which averaged 4.7% of 25-54s.

25-54: Grey’s Anatomy 12.2% > 29.1%, Chef on a Mission 8.1% > 17.1%, Private Practice 6.4% > 24.8%, Under the Grill 6.3% > 13.5%, NCIS 5.9% > 12.6%, NCIS: Los Angeles 5.2% > 13.3%.

18-49: Grey’s Anatomy 12.7% > 32.2%, Private Practice 6.8% > 27.7%, Chef on a Mission 6.4% > 14.9%, Under the Grill 5.5% > 12.9%, NCIS: Los Angeles 5.3% > 14.3%, NCIS 5.2% > 12.1%.

18-39: Grey’s Anatomy 13% > 37.2%, Private Practice 6.7% > 31.1% ,NCIS: Los Angeles 5% > 15.4%, Under the Grill 4.6% > 12.2%, NCIS 4.3% > 11.3%, Chef on a Mission 3.6% > 9.4%.

HHS: Grey’s Anatomy 17.1% > 38.3%, Private Practice 8.5% > 34.2%, Chef on a Mission 7.8% > 16.2%, Under the Grill 6.1% > 12.8%, NCIS: Los Angeles 5.6% > 13.7%, NCIS 4.5% > 9.3%.
