HDTV Ratings: September 25-27

Private Practice's Kadee Strickland and Paul AdelsteinTwo big weddings on two of the week’s biggest HD dramas didn’t make rating bells ring for TV2.

Viewership across all of the free-to-air channels continues to be sub-par because of Sky’s Rugby World Cup coverage.

Last night’s Grey’s Anatomy drew 9.5% of its target audience, 18-39 year-olds (versus 11.2% the previous week), 9.6% of 18-49 year-olds (vs 11.1%), 9.9% of 25-54 year-olds (vs 11.5%), and 13.4% of household shoppers with kids (vs 18.4%).

Sister show Private Practice also was down a point or so in most of its demographics.

NCIS’s 25-54 rating slipped from 8% to 7.1% but NCIS: Los Angeles’ rebounded, from 6.4% the previous week to 7.1%.

TV3’s HD re-run of The Tuxedo on Monday was neck-and-neck with TV2’s The Mentalist for 18-39 viewership.

But it wasn’t as popular with older viewers while TV One’s HD re-run of Criminal Minds at 9.30pm achieved a respectable 25-54 rating of 5.8%.

On Sunday, TV2’s HD sitcoms, Mike & Molly and The Middle, rated twice as highly as TV3’s HD comedy, Raising Hope, as did TV One’s Global Radar finale.
