HDTV Ratings: September 7-9
Despite NZ’s Got Talent storming the ratings on Sunday, HD stablemates Nothing Trivial and Offspring enjoyed only modest lifts in viewership.
Nothing Trivial averaged 5.6% – 9.1% of key demographics, compared to 5.0% – 8.3% the previous week, and Offspring 3.3% – 6.8% (vs 3.1% – 6.4% for the season premiere).
The biggest winner of the night was Sunday, which, in its shortened 7pm slot, averaged an exceptionally high 9.4% – 15.7%.
Even so, TV2’s HD re-run of The Big Bang Theory held its own, with 11.2% – 12.7% — as did the 8pm repeat opposite NZGT: 9.2% – 11.0%.
TV3’s Modern Family re-run proved surprisingly resilient, with 4.5% – 5.4%, while its HD repeat of Ghost Town averaged a competitive 5.8% – 8.8% and won its two-hour slot with the network’s target 25-54 audience.
But TV3’s new mid-week dramas Smash and The Killing crashed on Saturday when re-runs of their season premieres drew half the audience of CSI: New York/Miami in the same slots the previous week.
TV3’s ITM Fishing Show also wasn’t much of a lure, averaging 2.5% – 3.2% against Hyundai Country Calendar’s 5.3% – 10.5%.
Friday’s Big Bang Theory re-run averaged 13.2% – 15.1% and largely out-rated lead-in Shortland Street while the Graham Norton Show repeat averaged 6.5% – 8.8%.
